Depression (The "Black-Eyed Dog")

The humanoid creature with the head of a dog and black eyes is actually a visual representation of depression (in the words of Winston Churchill, "Depresssion is a Black-Eyed Dog.") He is constantly pestering several members of the Outsiders, especially Andrew and Victoria. The only two members of the group that he can't get a hold on, no matter how hard he tries, are Diane and Fiona ("They're just too damn happy and innocent to see or even hear me," Depression sighs). He first appears in The Brave & The Awesome These Past 3 Years In A Nutshell, but you won't hear his voice (provided by Andrew & Marc's friend Billy "BillyBCreations" Crinion) until Stink Or Swim. He wears an old tshirt and ripped jeans, and is normally seen either smoking a cigarette or drinking a bottle of alcohol.

"A Black-Eyed Dog, he clawed at my door.....

A Black-Eyed Dog, he called for more....."

- Nick Drake, Black-Eyed Dog 1974
