In August 2012, only three days after the start of the 9th Grade at a private Christian Academy in the middle of Florida, two teenage boys named Matt & Andrew had a conversation that eventually got off-topic, and led to the founding of a webtoon. They both wanted to have the word "Awesome" in the title because that was how their minds worked at the time. After hearing a news flash about a golden retriever saving a boy from an apartment fire (or something along those lines), the duo decided to call the series The Brave & The Awesome, and immediately started writing jokes and drawing sketches for what would be the first of three, short pilot episodes. Not long afterwards, the duo discovered the likes of Eddsworld, TomSka/DarkSquidge, OlanRogers, Thomas Sanders, Daz Black, etc, and they both started growing creatively as a result. However, out of the two boys, Andrew somehow ended up being the guy running the series and pushing the project forward. Over the years, the cast behind the show grew, with their closest school friends (Victoria, Diane, Fiona, Marc, & Travis) becoming main characters on the show.

If you ever go to the Brave & Awesome YouTube channel, you will notice that not very much has been going on the channel since March 2014. This is because it was since then when they started working on making new episodes, in particular a monster Wizard of Oz parody that ended up being.......quite a mess behind the scenes. However, since mid-to-late 2014, fans and friends from around the world have been joining forces with Andrew and friends to help with the production of the new episodes of the series that have been worked on since. Such help includes voice acting, idea pitching, critiquing, animating, concept art drawing, joke writing, etc.

In 2016, Fiona gave Andrew the idea of making a comic series to correlate with The Brave & The Awesome, so as to keep fans interested while the animated series continues to be worked on. Andrew's response: a new Brave & Awesome comic series called Tales From The Outsiders, which even went so far as to get published in Lake-Sumter State College's newspaper, The Angler. The comic shows the origins of the band of friends around which The Brave & The Awesome revolves.

But now, both the webtoon and the comic share a brand new website, thanks to wix.com. Here, you will find updates on both the webtoon and the comic. Make yourself at home! ;)
